Known Issues

Contents

The following are known issues that we don’t yet have a fix for.

libstdc++ and libc++ incompatibility

It has been raised that libstdc++ (the GNU C++ library) and libc++ (the LLVM c++ library) can’t really co-exist. This isn’t an issue if you’re only running software from the repos or binaries not written in C++, but poses an issue if it does. Future work switch over to libstdc++.

Reduced package set in user repo

To avoid the need to build, update, and resolve issues in a diverse set of packages without specific user demand, many packages in user have been marked restricted. Pull requests are welcome to unrestrict packages. Be sure to build, install and test locally before opening the PR though.

GNOME shows not responding message when exiting session

When exiting a GNOME session to restart, shutdown, or log out, a dialog is shown indicating that GNOME Shell is not responding. This can be ignored.

GNOME takes a long time to log out

When logging out of a GNOME session it takes a long time to return to the display manager.
